We can’t visit Oklahoma City for a family vacation without going to Frontier City. In our family's opinion, it’s the best attraction in the city. There is so much to do while you are there and the rides are so much fun. There is something for everyone. Not only do they have rides but you can experience free shows and even concerts. They will keep you entertained for the entire day.
Frontier City has an old west theme so if you are looking for an authentic wild west adventure when you visit Oklahoma City, then Frontier City is the best place to go. Everything follows the western theme even the buildings. They have shows and employees that complete the experience with wild west themed clothing. While we were in the park we even spotted a cowboy walking around with a lasso showing off his skills.
We like to find venues that the entire family will enjoy and Frontier City is definitely one of those venues. They have something for everyone. They have large coasters and thrill rides for my husband and teenager, they have a kids area that has only small rides for the little kids, and they even have shows and concerts for people like me that would rather skip the rides.
They have lots of places to grab a snack or drink. We had an amazing funnel cake while we visited. The kid’s favorite show was the wild west stuntman show. They have an entire stage set up with an old west town that they use to walk the audience through special effects and stunts like shooting, falling, and more. They blow up a large well of water that splashes the entire audience (I believe this is why it was their favorite). They even have a large fall stunt from the top of the buildings. Very impressive. A must-see if you visit. They have shows set up throughout the day. We also caught a fun magic show the kids enjoyed. On weekends they have free concerts, the day we visited 38 Special was playing. So there is a lot to do besides the rides.
They have lots of different types of rides to explore as well. They have several coasters and large thrill rides. They recently added a flying eagle ride that features a zip line over the park. Lots of fun if you love heights. They have great rides for kids and an entire area dedicated to young children. Lots of the classics like a Ferris wheel and carousel. Bumper cars were a big hit for my youngest. They also have fun water rides if you need to cool off an entire area with water slides called Water Works. So a little bit of everything.
