When I was about 10 years old I got to go watch the Harlem Globetrotters in Okmulgee, Oklahoma! In fact I got to play with them before the game and after. I was on cloud nine and they had their first woman on the team. You see I am now 26, 16 years later and I was thrilled to get the opportunity to take my family to see the @globies maybe more than thrilled!
I really believe that the Harlem Globetrotters do a great thing for our children of America. They grabbed several children throughout the game and made them feel very special. They made them smile, have fun, and even made them laugh, a big ol belly laugh! I remember as a child getting to do this and I believe those that got to go on the court will remember it when they grow up too.
My son is in love with all things athletic that include a ball. Basketball is his favorite so far and Mama Bear (that’s me!) could not be more thrilled! I played basketball from Kindergarten – Sophomore year of college! It made his day to be at the Harlem Globetrotters but getting ball seemed to do so much more!
You are NOT taking this ball from me! Understand, K!
We talked on the three hour drive home and we all agreed that we had a favorite “play” of the game. We dubbed it 24 because it got us 24 points! John loved it just as much as we did! I think you will too!
John was like woah! That just happened! Mama Bear did you just see that?
It was awesome. I am very glad that I had the opportunity to take my family on such an amazing family adventure. Thank you @USFG US Family Guide!
Here was another epic moment of the event!
And another of John dancing!
We had an amazing time and I hope you will check their schedule and take your family to visit them!
